Snow Farm NZ Limited (“Snow Farm NZ”, “we”, “us”, “our”) operates the cross-country ski area, alpine huts and Polar Espresso Cafe at 2127 Cardrona Valley Road, Cardrona, Wanaka 9381, New Zealand, and this website, snowfarm.nz. Snow Farm NZ Limited is a registered charity (CC49638) and a subsidiary of the Pisa Alpine Charitable Trust (CC42514).
This policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use it, who we share it with, how we keep it safe, and the rights you have under the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020. It applies to this website, to bookings and payments made through it, and to our operations on the mountain.

Information we collect
- Booking details – your name, email address, phone number, postal address, age or age category, and the names and ages of other people in your party.
- Season pass details – a photograph, which we require so a pass can be assigned to you and checked when you arrive.
- Payment details – see “Payment information” below.
- Safety and operational information – vehicle registration, emergency contact details, hut check-in and check-out times, and any medical, dietary or accessibility information you choose to give us so we can look after you safely.
- Website information – your IP address, browser and device type, the pages you visit and the site you arrived from, collected through cookies and analytics.
- Correspondence – emails, contact form messages, phone calls, reviews and social media messages.
Payment information
Card payments made on this website are processed by Worldline New Zealand (formerly Paymark) through its CLICK payment gateway. When you pay, your card details are entered on Worldline’s secure hosted payment page over an encrypted (TLS) connection, directly into Worldline’s PCI DSS compliant systems.
Snow Farm NZ does not see, receive or store your full card number. We never store the card security code (CVV / CVC / CVN) at any time, either before or after a transaction. We keep only what we need to identify a payment and to handle refunds and disputes: the last four digits of the card, the card type, the amount, the date, and the authorisation reference.
Payments are settled to our New Zealand bank account. Card payments made in person at Snow Farm are processed through an EFTPOS terminal supplied by our bank, and card numbers are not recorded in our own systems.
We will never ask you to send card details by email, text message or social media. If you receive a request like that claiming to be from Snow Farm NZ, please do not respond – contact us on 03 443 7542.
How we use your information
- To take, confirm and manage your booking, and to issue passes and rental equipment.
- To process payments, refunds and cancellations.
- To contact you about your booking, including changes to conditions, closures or safety information.
- To account for everyone on the mountain, and to respond if someone is overdue or needs assistance.
- To meet our health and safety obligations, including incident records.
- To send you marketing about Snow Farm NZ, where you have subscribed (see “Marketing” below).
- To improve our website, our products and our service.
- To meet our legal, tax and charities reporting obligations.
Who we share it with
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with:
- Worldline New Zealand, our payment service provider, so your card payment can be processed.
- Our booking system provider, so your booking can be taken and managed.
- Our bank and the card schemes, where required to settle a payment or resolve a chargeback.
- Software providers who host our website, email and operational systems under contract to us.
- Emergency services and search and rescue, if we hold a genuine concern for someone’s safety.
- Government agencies, where we are required by law to do so.
Some of these providers store information on servers outside New Zealand. Where that happens, we take reasonable steps to ensure the information is protected by standards comparable to the Privacy Act 2020.
Cookies and analytics
This website uses cookies to make the site work, remember your preferences, and understand how the site is used. We use Google Analytics and Google Tag Manager for this. You can block or delete cookies through your browser settings, though some parts of the site may not work as well if you do.
Marketing
If you subscribe to our newsletter we will email you about conditions, events, offers and news. Every email includes an unsubscribe link, and you can also unsubscribe at any time by emailing info@snowfarm.nz. We do not add you to marketing lists simply because you made a booking.
How we store and protect your information
Your information is held in secure, access-controlled systems. Access is limited to staff who need it to do their job. Data is transmitted over encrypted connections, staff accounts are individually issued, and card data is never held on our own systems. We review our security arrangements regularly.
How long we keep it
We keep booking and payment records for at least seven years to meet our tax and accounting obligations. Health and safety and incident records are kept as required by law. Marketing subscriptions are kept until you unsubscribe. Season pass photographs are kept for the life of the pass and deleted at the end of the season in which it expires.
Your rights
Under the Privacy Act 2020 you have the right to ask us what personal information we hold about you, to ask for a copy of it, and to ask us to correct anything that is wrong. Email info@snowfarm.nz and we will respond within 20 working days. We may need to verify your identity first.
Complaints
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your personal information, please contact us first at info@snowfarm.nz so we can try to put it right. If you are still not satisfied, you can complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner at www.privacy.org.nz or 0800 803 909.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The current version is always the one published on this page, and the date it was last updated is shown at the top.
