Snow Farm Summer Activities

Our trails are perfect for exploring the alpine environment of the Pisa Range by foot or mountain bike where you can find something for everyone in the family.

Link our trails up with the Pisa Conservation area trail network and stay in one of our huts for a multi-day adventure.

Please note from October – June visitors need to use the code needed for the gate at the bottom of the access road. Hut guests receive this code in their confirmation emails. All day visitors need to pay the road toll online below to receive the code.

Stay at a backcountry Hut

Snow Farm has four backcountry huts that are available to book all year round. Great for family overnight tramping trips, as an escape for the night, or as a base for a longer bike-packing or tramping trip further afield.

These huts are the Musterers Hut, Meadow Hut, Bob Lee Hut & Daisy Lee Hut. All 3-6km from our base.

Things to know

SHPG Road Toll

The gate at the bottom of the access road is kept locked in summer months. A gate code can be obtained by booking a hut with Snow Farm NZ or paying the road toll of $20 per vehicle online. Please close and lock the gate behind you. No dogs allowed outside of vehicles on the access road.

Summer trail Koha Donation

During summer, we welcome users of our trails for hiking and mountain biking without a trail pass. As a not-for-profit organisation we would really appreciate a donation towards the upkeep and maintenance of the trail network.

4WD Access

We allow 4WD access to huts for exclusive bookings only from December to the end of April (subject to trail conditions). In the event of bad weather or wet trail conditions (e.g. freeze-thaw) and vehicle access being revoked, this does not qualify you for a hut refund.
